Project Details
As the architect of this residence, we aimed to create a design that seamlessly blends modern aesthetics with traditional Indian influences. The structure is a two-story building primarily constructed from high-quality concrete, rendered in a smooth, off-white finish for a clean, contemporary look. The choice of materials reflects a commitment to both durability and visual appeal.
The design incorporates elements of Art Deco architecture, evident in the curved balconies and the rhythmic repetition of arched window features. These curves soften the otherwise rectilinear form, creating a dynamic and visually engaging facade. The use of reddish-brown accents on the exterior walls and the decorative Jali screens adds a touch of warmth and traditional Indian design aesthetic. The Jali screens, crafted from terracotta, provide visual privacy while allowing for natural light and ventilation. The landscaping, with its carefully selected greenery, complements the building’s curves and softens its presence within the landscape. Interior lighting is skillfully integrated, emphasizing the building’s contours and architectural details at night.
The overall design philosophy prioritizes both form and function—creating a visually striking home that also offers comfortable and practical living spaces. The integration of natural light and ventilation, along with the careful choice of materials, aims for a sustainable and energy-efficient design.
The design uses clean lines, sharp angles, and curved balconies and walls to create a dynamic and visually engaging form. Balconies feature sleek, dark metal railings. The use of vertical and horizontal lines creates a sense of balance while the curved elements soften the overall aesthetic, preventing it from feeling overly rigid. The landscaping consisting of neatly trimmed hedges and small trees adds to the building’s modern and sophisticated ambiance. Materials appear high-quality and lend to a luxurious look. The design theory employed seems to focus on creating a visually striking and functional space by integrating both simplicity and decorative elements, aiming for a balance between modern minimalist principles and subtle cultural references possibly derived from regional architectural traditions in the choice of brickwork. The overall impression is one of elegance, sophistication, and functionality.
